This is an artisanal product, meaning it is made with great care in the traditional way. It’s handmade in a batch controlled ‘cottage industry style’ manufacturing process with stringent standardized quality controls. The water used for the soap making process is taken from UK filtered rainwater so there is no contamination from chlorine or other soluble impurities.
From our expert soap maker: “I was, and still am, determined that our soaps would be made the traditional way to the highest quality – the cold press way. It’s the best way to make natural soaps. We source the best ingredients and we hand mix everything – that way, we are able to take great care of our soaps. Once mixed, they are poured into molds and left to cure for six weeks. Yes, six weeks. Good things come to those who wait, right?
Our customers also have the comfort of knowing that we are a member of the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers too!”
The soaps may vary slightly in color due to careful sourcing of the seeds, making each piece totally unique without compromising performance.
Only the finest ingredients will do:
Saponified Oils of:
- Olea Europaea (Pomace Olive Fruit)
- Nigella Sativa oil and butter
- Cocus Nucifera (Coconut)
- Vitamin E (Tocopheral)
A very high quality natural vitamin E (Tocopheral) is added to prevent oxidative rancidity in the mixed oils as vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. In this way, our soap can be superfatted to 5%, giving it extra moisturizing qualities – it leaves a protective microscopic film of oils on your skin.
Our soap is free from artificial fragrances and preservatives. Black Seed Oil acts as a natural preservative, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-histamine and the black seed butter is also rich in antioxidants and nutrients. The nutritive factors in the oil can help repair and regenerate damaged skin.
The formula we use has been carefully designed to maximize skin conditioning performance. The oils are balanced to take advantage of the Oleic, Lauric and Linoleic acids derived from black seed oil, black seed butter, olive and coconut oils: The best oils to use for dry skin are oils that contain higher amounts of oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid found in heavier, slower drying oils. Linoleic acid (vitamin F) is a powerhouse ingredient known for its ability to heal, hydrate and plump skin. Studies have demonstrated that lauric acid works as an antibiotic treatment method against the Propionibacterium bacteria that causes acne breakouts on the skin.
This superb soap gives an enriched lather and once washed off, will leave your skin feeling fresh, clean and hydrated. If used as a shampoo bar by those suffering from dandruff and dry scalp, it will produce noticeable improvements over time.
Our soap and shampoo bars are suitable for face, body and hair and are gentle enough for the whole family to use.
